Shortening the Supply Chain

Local Provisions

Our motto is “Dock to Table” as we aim to reduce the distance, time, and resources required to put food on the plates of our customers.

The average meal in the United States travels approximately 1,500 miles by the time it hits your table. During the pandemic, we saw many of our local fish markets in New England offering shrimp from India, Tuna from the Philippines, and Haddock from Norway.

This did not make sense to us.

We keep it simple as over 90% of our products are landed and processed at Red’s Best in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. You can easily calculate the distance your meal has traveled due to the transparency of our supply chain. For most of Massachusetts, your purchase will have traveled less than 150 miles which is only a tenth of the typical meal.
