Known as "poor man's lobster", monkfish is mild with a firm dense texture similar to lobster. Each large monkfish produces two nugget pieces of white, lobster-like meat from their cheeks. A highly tender cut, fish cheeks are the preferred part of the fish eaten by fishermen. Making use of the whole fish adds value back to the fleet.

Health Benefits | Low in sodium, a good source of niacin and vitamins B6, B12 and potassium and a very good source of protein, phosphorus and selenium. Each large monkfish produces two nugget pieces of white, lobster-like meat from their cheeks. Packaging & Usage: High tech flash frozen and vacuum sealed in 1 lb. portions at peak freshness from the ocean. Each packaged item provides the transparent catch data to harvest your local catch; the species, fisherman, vessel, port of origin, and gear used. Items delivered moderately thawed on dry ice may be put directly into your freezer to keep at restaurant quality for up to nine months, or thaw under refrigeration prior to cooking. Product has four day refrigerated shelf life.
